Organized by the Ghana Football Association, the Ghana premier league is the most known and top football division of the league system in Ghana. It was officially formed in 1956. The league was ranked from 2001 until 2010 as the 11th best league in Africa, while it was ranked during the same period of time as the 65th best league in the world. The last winner of the league in 2017 was Aduana Stars, while the famous club of the city of Kumasi has won the league four years in a row from 2011 until 2014. Nicholas Gyan

He is the top scorer in Ghana’s last premier league that took place in 2017. Born on December 23rd, 1997 in Accra, Nicholas has achieved an amazing performance by scoring eight goals despite his young age. He was playing for the Ghanaian club Ebusua Dwarfs during the last league, but his currently playing for Simba FC, which is located in Tanzania. He has signed a three-year contract with the Tanzanian club which will expire in 2020.

Thomas Abbey

Thomas was playing for the Heart of Oaks during the last league, and he is the second top scorer in the league after Nicholas Gyan. He has scored seven goals, which made him more famous and well-known among Ghanaian football players. Thomas was born on August 16th, 1993 in Accra, and he is set to move to the Egyptian club Ismaily in February 2018, as he has already signed the contract to join the club in January 2018.

Joseph Paintsil

Joseph is the third scorer in the league after Thomas Abbey, as he has scored six goals. He was born on February 1st, 1998 in Accra. He was playing for Tema Youth during the league, which is his current loan club, and now he is playing for the Hungarian club Ferencvárosi TC.

Samuel was playing for the Liberty Professionals during the league, and he has scored six goals, although his main position in the field is a defender and not a striker. He was born on August 12th, 1990, and he is also working a policeman in Ghana. He is known for his passion for the two jobs, which is something unfamiliar for a famous and a well-known football player to work as a police officer ad the same time. He was playing for the Ghanaian club Berekum Chelsea for some time before he joined the Liberty Professionals again.

Stephen Sarfo

Stephen was born on May 25th, 1992 in Ghana, and he has scored six goals in the last league when he was playing for Berekum Chelsea. He is now playing for the Egyptian club Smouha that is located in the city of Alexandria. He has demonstrated an amazing performance during the league’s matches, and that is why he was greatly admired by the Egyptians who have decided to make him an offer to join Smouha SC, which is one of the biggest sporting clubs in Egypt.

Ahmed Toure

Ahmed was born on July 17th, 1987 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and he is now playing for the Bechem United Ghanaian club. He has scored six goals in Ghana’s last premier league. Ahmed also has an Ivorian nationality, and he has begun his career playing for the Ivorian club Africa Sports National. Daniel was playing for the West African Football Academy “WAFA” during the league where he has scored five goals. He was nominated for the player of the month by Ghana’s Football Association in April 2017.

Kofi was born on April 5th, 1991 in Accra, and he was the top scorer in the premier league that took place in the 2014/2015 season. Back then, he has scored 19 goals for Berekum Chelsea. He has joined the Egyptian club Aswan FC in January 2016 before the new season began. He has also played for the Ghanaian clubs King Faisal and Aduana Stars.

Augustine Okrah

Augustine was the top scorer in Ghana’s premier league that took place in the 2013/2014 season, where he has scored sixteen goals back then for the Bechem United club. He was born on September 14th, 1993, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, and he is now playing for the Egyptian club Smouha SC along with the other Ghanaian top scorer Stephen Sarfo. He has played before for other clubs in Sudan and Sweden.

Mahatma Ottoo

Mahatma was the top scorer in Ghana’s premier league that took place in the 2012/2013 season. He was born in Accra on February 6th, 1992. He has played in Tunisia, Norway, and now he is playing in Turkey. He was named the Goal king for the season that took place in 2012/2013 when he was playing for the Ghanaian club Heart of Oak.

Emmanuel Baffour

Emmanuel was born in Accra on April 2nd, 1992, and he is now playing for the Lebanese club Al-Ijtimai Tripoli. He was the top scorer in Ghana’s premier league that took place in the 2011/2012 season, and he has scored twenty-one goals for New Edubiase back then. He has played before for the South African Club Sundowns.

Nana Poku

Nana was the top scorer in the league that took place in the 2010/2011 season when he was playing for Berekum Arsenal back then. His amazing performance in that premier league has helped him land a three-year deal with the Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva. Now he is playing for one of the biggest and most popular Egyptian clubs Zamalek.
