- Kennedy Agyapong says he is hated because he is truthful in his dealings in NPP
- The MP says he will continue to criticize the NPP and NDC irrespective of the hatred
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has disclosed that he is hated by some members of his own party because of his resolve to be truthful at all times.
According to the MP, he is not bothered but will continue to criticize both NDC and NPP irrespective of whoever is involved.
Speaking on Adom TV on Tuesday, Kennedy Agyapong stated that it appears he has incurred the wrath of many NPP members than in the opposition NDC.
The Assin MP in his interaction maintained that hatred on the side of his own party men are so serious that some members are scheming to bring down his business empire.
“I always stand for the truth but I sometimes expect ordinary people to also criticize the government if we are going wayward because I believe that will put the government on its toes. I can tell you that I have made more enemies in the NPP than the NDC because I know some of them hate me for speaking the truth,” he said.
This is not the first time the outspoken legislator is raising such concerns about how some top brass of his party want his downfall.
In July last year, Kennedy Agyapong raised similar concerns, accusing some NPP bigwigs of scheming to bring him down at a planned meeting at Alisa Hotel, Accra.
The politician at the time warned that he will not sit idle while persons who did little to improve the fortunes of the party bring the current administration down.
“I will correct all wrongs in NPP because should NDC come into power now, they will either kill me, collapse my business or find a flimsy charge against me to be jailed,” the MP was reported.
The maverick politicians also vowed to face any individual who tries to reap what he or she did not sow in the NPP.
