A statement issued by the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) said the power outages were as a result of a disturbance on its transmission network.
“Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) wishes to inform the general public of a disturbance on its transmission network resulting in the loss of electricity supply to consumers in some parts of the country,” a statement from GRIDCo said.
The company later assured that its technicians are working to resolve the issue.
However, residents in and around Pokuase, Odorkor and Kuntunse have been left frustrated by the unannounced power outages.
According to some of them, their lights have been off for over a week.
“Almost every single day and what makes me feel it is not a fault is that over the weekends, you will have light but as soon as it is Monday Tuesday Wednesday to Friday the light will go off by all means.
"If you are not lucky it will come on around six or seven,” a resident complained in an interview with Joy News.
It is unknown what exactly is has caused the disturbance in transmission, with GRIDCo refusing to give any further information.
