- Nana Appiah Mensah says fans should not create unnecessary rivalry between Zylofon artistes
The Chief Executive of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah, has disclosed that his record label is ready to rebrand his new artiste, Shatta Wale, as an international icon.
According to the CEO, the record label will break through all challenges and put Shatta Wale on the international stage.
Addressing the media at a signing ceremony on Wednesday, Nana Appiah said Shatta Wale has always faced challenges on the international stage due to media controversies surrounding him.
“Zylofon will take him global,” the CEO said.
He also advised fans of all the artistes signed onto the Zylofon label to desist from comparing and encouraging competition among local Ghanaian artistes.
However, Nana Appiah said it does not hurt to call for competition between international artistes and Ghanaian musicians.
Though the Zylofon boss did not disclose the details of Shatta Wale's contract, he insisted it was a good move for the artiste and the entire nation.
Shatta Wale who was clearly excited about the Zylofon deal, expressed his appreciation and promised to work hard to push the brand.
The unveiling ceremony yesterday witnessed some major stakeholders in the entertainment industry, including the father and ‘wife’ of the ‘Freedom’ hitmaker, as well as hundreds of Shatta Movement fans.
