- Nana Addo has suspended the Upper West regional minister
- The suspension follows his alleged indulgent in vandalism in the area
- This suspension is believed to be an outright dismissal
President of the republic, Nana Addo, Danquah Akufo-Addo has officially suspended the Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Sulemana Braimah.
Yen.com.gh is learning that the suspension follows his involvement in vandalism in the region.
The embattled minister is reported to have ordered for the release of NPP thugs arrested after attacking various officers of the NADMO office there.
In an emergency statement issued by the director of communications, Eugene Arhin, the president ordered that the suspension takes immediate effect as government awaits the outcome of preliminary investigations.
In fact, there were intense protests against the minister following his decision to free the NPP thugs from jail as workers at the NADMO officers accused the minister of fueling vigilantism in the country.
“President Akufo-Addo reiterates his commitment to the application of the laws of the land, which must occur without fear or favour, affection or and without recourse to the political, religious or ethnic affiliations of any citizen of the land,” excerpts of the statement revealed.
It is not clear when the embattled regional minister will be reinstated but there are claims that the suspension is in itself an outright dismissal of the minister.
