As a graduate school founded in 2005, Ghana Telecom University Courses seek to facilitate the training and graduation of leaders who will be instrumental in making significant contributions to their fields of expertise in particular, and the world community in general. The Ghana Telecom University was launched by the National telecommunications body mainly to facilitate advancement in media- related courses but has gradually grown into offering other courses, with a notable increased enrollment to about 7,000 students by 2017.Like all other higher learning institutions, Ghana Telecom University Courses are tailored to deliver quality and diverse programmes that stimulate and engage students in intellectual exploration. Popularly abbreviated as GTUC, the varsity whose council comprises of distinguished successful persons has its main campus in Tesano, Accra. Currently, it has satellite campuses in Kumasi, Koforidua, Takoradi and Ho and is still yet to grow in an attempt to get its roots closer to the community.
Ghana Telecom University Courses Offered
Previously a college until its inauguration on 23rd August 2013, GTUC started by providing certificate programs then bachelor’s degree and currently postgraduate courses. It has slowly but surely gone up the education ladder. A point to note is that the institution has not lost the technical bit of colleges, which is a good thing. It places a lot of importance in the practical skills of its students and organizes a lot of seminars and professional workshops, particularly in the telecommunications courses.
Admission Requirements for Diploma Programmes
SSSCE/GBCE applicants must have grades “A - D” in both their core and elective subjects. This includes English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies and any three elective subjects which are relevant to the applicant’s area of study.
Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes
- ‘O’ Level/‘A ’Level – credits in at least five (5) subjects at the GCE‘O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics.
- At least 3 credit passes in the relevant subjects at the Advanced level.
- GBCE - credit passes in Business Mathematics, English Language and Integrated
- Science and three (3) elective subjects.
- SSSCE/WASSCE - credit passes in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three elective subjects relevant to the chosen programme with at least aggregate 24/36
The Application Process
- Purchase a voucher nationwide at Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) at GH120.00 through the SMART _ PAY platform
- Visit GTUC website: www.gtuc.edu.gh, click on online application, and choose “apply online” under the undergraduate or diploma option.
- Enter the Serial Number and Pin on the voucher
- Complete application form, scan and attach your passport sized photograph and relevant documents
- Print a copy of the completed form and submit to GTUC Admissions Office
Alternatively, one can download the application form online or obtain a hard copy from the various Campuses, fill and attach all the required documents and a passport-sized photograph before submitting back to the admissions office of any of the campuses.
Note that all attached copies of Certificates/Result slips must be verified by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).

Ghana Telecom University Fees
Depending on the course you are studying, the Ghana telecom university college fees differ. There is SRC, SPORTS, ISA, and FACULTY dues that are to be paid separately in addition to tuition fees despite your specialization. Fresh students are required to pay full school fees during admission into the school. For all the continuing students, a grace period is given after which any late payment attracts a fine of GHC 200.00.
The fees for the local students is always lower than that of international students, mainly aimed at giving the locals a bigger chance in getting the varsity education. Narrowing down, the MBA International trade is the cheapest matters MBA programmes, costing 4000 pounds for locals and 6000 pounds for international students. MSc Telecommunications engineering takes the lead at GH¢ 20000.00 - GH¢ 28000.00 for locals and international students respectively.
The fees for the undergraduate programs range between GH¢1,785.00- US$2,243.00 while that of diploma courses totals to H¢1,912.00 - US$1,997.00 for the local and international student respectively. The SRC dues for Ghanaians is GH¢ 15.00 and US$ 7.00 for non-Ghanaians.

All the fees plus the additional dues is expected to be paid with a bankers draft at the Accounts Receivable unit of the Finance Office with a bank deposit slip from Eco bank or Zenith Bank.
