Two people have reportedly died in an explosion at Baku near Atuabo in the Western Region.
The two, Amos Tetteh, 36, and Samuel Kenyah, 16, died while working on a tanker at a mechanic shop on Saturday, February 3, YEN.com.gh gathered.
According to reports, the driver of the tanker with registration number GN 6228-14, took a mechanic shop for a faulty part to be welded.
In the course of the welding, the tanker exploded and instantly killed Kenyah, an apprentice at the shop.
Tetteh, the driver’s mate, who was injured together with Michael Boavo, 26 years and Jackson Bosompem, 23, both welders, died at a hospital on Sunday afternoon.
YEN.com.gh understands the injured, who were admission at St Martins De Porres Hospital at Eikwei, are responding to treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Axim hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the police have reportedly confirmed the incident.
According to a 3news.com report, the driver, Eklu Agbormegah is currently in custody assisting in investigations. The exploded tanker has been impounded.
