One-time hitmaker, Sony Achiba, has disclosed that former a Peace FM presenter, Fiifi Banson, succeeded in collapsing his music career in Ghana.
According to the musician, the popular presenter’s nonstop criticisms on his Indian style of music on live radio brought his career to an abrupt end.
Speaking on Accra-based Onua FM, Sony Achiba said Fii Banson, now the host of Kasapa FM Morning Show hated and discredited his songs so much that he had to leave the country.
“Fiifi Banson criticized my song called ‘Wo ne Medofo’. I did the video with Nana Ama McBrown and do you know how much I spent doing that song. And after doing the song you (Fiifi Banson) tell me the song is a ‘stupid’ song and not a good song. Have you written a song before? How dare you talk ill about the song,” the musician said.
The singer told Onua FM that, “At that time, I couldn’t voice out after his criticism. I felt so hurt at that time but the reason why I’m now voicing out is that I want to free myself from the pain he made me go through all these years.”
Sony Achiba in his interview revealed that, although he reported Fiifi Banson to his superiors several times, the radio presenter did not change his ways.
Meanwhile, the Kasapa FM presenter has declined to comment on the issue.
Sony Achiba was known for his Indian style of music, which he calls it ‘Hip-Dia’.
The artiste has three albums to his credit and he is currently in Ghana promoting his new single titled ‘fufuo.’
