Zylofon Media has apologised to fans of Stonebwoy over the grand unveiling of Shatta Wale as the latest artiste of the label.
Zylofon unveiled Shatta at a much publicised event at their plush East Legon office in Accra last Wednesday.
The unveiling ceremony which was broadcast live on Zylofon TV saw top entertainment journalists in the country as well as fans of Shatta Wale storming the venue and it dominated the news headlines for nearly 48 hours.
Immediately after the event, there was a banter on social media between fans of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
Many of Stonebwoy's fans criticised Zylofon for what they believed was the giving of too much prominence to Shatta Wale over their idol.
But in an interview with Kumasi-based Abusua FM, spokesperson for Zylofon, Sammy Baah 'Flex' pointed out that they did not intentionally cause the frenzy around Shatta Wale's unveiling.
“We apologise to fans of Stonebwoy for that. Nobody intends to give prominence to one over other artiste. All the twelve artists the record label has signed are equally important and we shall give equal priority to them as well, "Sammy 'Flex' stated.
The Zylofon spokesperson revealed that Shatta Wale requested to bring his fans along to the ceremony adding "the man put up an open invitation on Facebook and you know the number of fans Shatta has.”
He further explained that Stonebwoy's signing last year made little headlines because Zylofon had little media clout at the time.
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy himself has welcomed Shatta Wale to the Zylofon family after the unveiling.
