The Communications Director of the Ghana Gas Company Limited, Ernest Owusu Bempah, has promised to quit politics if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) endorses John Mahama as its flagbearer for the 2020 elections.

According to him, Former President John Mahama would not get 30% of the votes of Ghanaian voters in the 2020 elections.

"...you remember I told you in 2016 in your studio that if Mahama wins I will pack my things, travel to the UK and live there and truly he lost woefully’’, he stated, when interviewed by Abusua FM's Abusua Nkommo.

Owusu Bempah went on to say that the ex-president would lose the 2020 polls even if endorsed by the NDC, because President Akufo-Addo is doing a good job.

He noted that the introduction of unprecedented policies such as the Free SHS programme would forever remain with Ghanaians.

He went on to say that the NDC doubted the possibility of the implementation of the programme, and as such President Akufo-Addo has proven the critics wrong.

The Free SHS policy was one of the key campaign promises of the New Patriotic Party during the 2016 elections. It was implemented in September 2017.
