Veteran Ghanaian actress, Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, is advising Ghanaian celebrities to consider proper investments instead of buying heavy cars to avoid begging for financial assistance in the near future.
According to the actress, many Ghanaians in the Creative Arts industry live lavish lifestyles and refuse to listen to any kind of advice, but later become miserable in their old age.
Maame Dokono speaking on Accra-based TV 3 stressed that, it is becoming very embarrassing to see one-time hitmakers come to live radio and television programmes to cry out for public support.
“I was also not paid well just like the others, but I don’t like the situation where some of us will come and sit on air and solicit for funds, begging or crying”, the actress said.

The actress said it is therefore imperative local stars try their best and invest their monies into fruitful ventures which will prevent them from coming back to the same society they never gave back to, and beg for financial support.
“I get very sad when I see my colleagues come on radio and television to solicit for support from the general public all in the name of they were not been paid well in the past”, she said.
Maame Dokono in her interaction therefore advised government to appoint people who understands the Creative Arts industry in order to develop it into a world-class sector that will rake in revenue for the country.
