  • Urinary tract infections are also likely to increase during this period.

With some of these serious effect of sex during menstruation, women should be well advised to know if this is something they are willing to do. In the end it is all a matter of choice. While the risks of infections exists, the act in itself is safe and may not have any medical implications when no infections exists.
