A Mobile Money operator has been shot and killed in a robbery attack at Kronom-Kyeraasi in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region on Saturday evening.
31-year-old Richmond Ofori, also known as Papa Yaw, died on the spot after two gun men on a motorbike shot him twice.
The attackers, YEN.com.gh gathers, took away an unspecified amount of money.
The deceased’s friend, 25-year-old Malik Ezekiel, who was also shot in the legs, is currently on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

According to the assembly member for the area, Michael Adu Poku, when he got to KATH he was told “the mobile money operator was dead on arrival.”
“After the incident, everybody’s attention was on the victims so no one took note of the assailants who committed the crime”, the assembly member stated on Citi FM.

The Kodie District Police Command have also confirmed the incident saying the the deceased’s body has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital awaiting an autopsy.
