Police patrol team picked up around 18 prostitutes from New Juabeng Municipality. The Police Command of the Eastern Region possessed evidence against these suspected prostitutes. Prostitution industry has been booming since the past many years. It can be claimed that lack of governance has somewhere led to rapid development of the prostitution industry.

ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, PR Officer of the Regional Command clearly stated in an interview that at around 1:30 am ladies were found to conduct their prostitution business nearby municipality. Arrests were made immediately by the Police Command.
The ultimate objective behind such spontaneous action was to completely eradicate the act of prostitution from the grass-root level.
They were continuously tracked by the Police Department, prior to making the final call of arresting them.
DSP Sewornu when interviewed said that the arrest was made only when it was found out that importuning or soliciting for sex was taking place at different vantage points nearby the municipality.
Demographic characteristics of arrested candidates
All of the suspects arrested belong to the same age group.
For instance, the suspects were basically between the age group between 20 to 36 years.
Most of the ladies also did not come from a proper educational background.
The need for money ultimately had driven ladies to opt for the prostitution business.
The Police Command even stated that each of these 18 ladies would soon be called for processing in front of the court.
To a great extent, the case even stood strong because of the residential claims.
As viewed in this particular case, residents nearby the New Juabeng Municipality had raised their voice against the increased pace of commercial sex workers within the locality.
