Many Ghanaians are making waves and living their dream internationally with their talent and skills which invariably is raising the flag of Ghana high.
One such Ghanaian who has risen to the top with his profession is South London-based barber, Nikky Okyere.
Nikky Okyere was born and bred in Ghana but eventually relocated to the United Kingdom. He is noted for his classic haircuts which has seen him style the hairs of some of the top players in the English Premier League including Manchester United’s Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Crystal Palace duo, Wilfried Zaha and Bakary Sako.
Slick Rick, the barber shop that Nikky owns is one of a kind. Aside customers trooping in for a haircut, the shop is noted for hosting dance battles with many people coming in to exhibit their dance moves.
He also takes the opportunity to promote the music of many Ghanaian artistes as he plays their songs in his shop to the enjoyment of his customers.
According to a report sighted on Dailymail.co.uk, Nikky Okyere’s rise to fame began when a friend recommended his handiwork to Nigerian international, Yakubu Ayegbeni.
It was uphill from there with the barber having the pleasure of working on the hairs of Christian Benteke, Divock Origi, Jordon Ibe and Danny Welbeck.

Among his growing list of celebrity customers are some of the players of Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars. He has also had the opportunity of working on Former Chelsea and Black Stars’ boss, Avram Grant.
The work of Nikky went so far and wide that he got employed by Italy international, Mario Balotelli. As a result, Nikky has to fly out of the country sometimes due to is work.
Many of his superstar customers have gifted him with their personal paraphernalia which he displays in the barber shop.
As part of his fast-growing fame in the world of hairdressing, he was the only non-footballer invited to the private birthday celebration of Mario Ballotelli.
Nikky Okyere does not just give haircuts but also inspires almost every customer that sits in his shop waiting for his services.
