Remember the Nigerian artist that former United States president, Barack Obama, decided to choose to paint his official portrait?
Yes, 40-year-old New York-based Kehinde Wiley.
Kehinde's portrait of Obama, has finally been unveiled. It was unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery with that of former first lady Michelle Obama.
“How about that? That’s pretty sharp,” said Obama, who described the art as “extraordinary”. He said: “It’s my great honor to be here. It means so much to us.”
Kehinde Wiley is genius artist known for black street culture with European classical paintings. The New-York based artist has painted Ice T as Emperor Napoleon by David and rapper LL Cool J as John Singer Sargent.

Wiley was born to a Yoruba father and an African-American mother in Los Angeles, California, 1977. He earned his BFA from San Francisco Art Institute and his MFA from Yale University, school of art.
