The cameraman of Ghana Broadcasting Corporations is happy and satisfied with the behavior of the security officers of the President Nana Akufo-Addo during the 2018 ceremony. Last year he was interrupted and stopped to continue his works. The incident happened when the President was addressing to both the audiences and the spectators in the State of Nation.
Samuel Oduro Amofa is the main cameraman and operator of GBC who was treated badly. He was present in the ceremony and was recording the speeches of the President. While shooting he went very close of the President. He was trying to take some close pictures of the President. But this behavior was not liked by the security officials. They took the incident very seriously and removed the cameraman from the place. They also thought that the cameraman was trying to break the security and endanger the President's life.
The speech was live when this incident took place and all people witnessed the incident. The event or the scene went viral in different social media platforms. The government and the security officials were badly criticized for many days.
Now, we see a completely different situation at the State of Nation Address. While the President was giving a speech to the nation it was noticed that the cameraman who was treated badly last year was shaking hands with the security officials. They were engaged in some important discussions. The incident was captured by David Andoh. He is one of the famous awards winning photo journalists.
It was also noticed that the junior security officials were not allowed by the top officials to make any kind of changes regarding the security of the people. Amofa, the cameraman of GBC said that he was happy and very excited as he was able to cover the whole incident smoothly without any interference from the officials.
He also remarked that they were not disturbed while performing their works. They were allowed to collect both the pictures as well as record the speeches of the President.
