-Two escapees in the Kwabenya jailbreak incident have been jailed
-Atta Kwadwo and Prince Osei are to serve 30 months each in jail
An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced two of the seven men who escaped during a jailbreak at the Kwabenya Police Station to five years (60 months) imprisonment.
Atta Kwadwo and Prince Osei aka Bebe will each serve two and a half years (30 months) each for breaking jail.
The two were convicted on January 30, when they appeared before court and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to escape lawful custody and escaping from lawful custody.
The court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh, however deferred sentencing to Tuesday, February 13.
Atta and Osei escaped from police custody on January 21, 2018, after six armed men stormed the station to free them.
The attack resulted in the death of the a police officer, Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi.
