-Bullet, Ebony’s manager, has disclosed that the first pay Ebony ever received was GHC 500
-She got that amount for performing at her first show
-But until her untimely death, Ebony was worth over $200,000 within two years
The chief executive officer (CEO) of Ruff Town Records, Bullet, has revealed the first payment Ebony received at the start of her career.
The amount, according to Bullet, was five hundred cedis (GHC500.00).
According to Bullet, known in private life as Ricky Nana Agyeman, Ebony was super excited about the GHC 500 cedis that she celebrated it for days.
He added that Ebony was determined not to spend that money, but to save it until it increased to GHC 1,000 cedis.
Bullet made this revelation in an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on GHONE TV.
“She was excited over that amount, very excited that she told me, ‘Boss, today me too I have GHC500’; she never wanted to spend it, but she saved until she made her first GHC1,000.00,” Bullet revealed.
Since then, the “Original90sBadgurl” who had carved a niche for herself in the industry started getting more shows and earning around GHC 30,000, according to reports.
However, just two years into her career, Ebony worked extremely hard, grew her career and brand till she secured the biggest deal ever.
That was her deal with Kasapreko, in which she was made a brand ambassador for their Hi5 Chocomalt.
The deal earned her a sum of $200,000 plus other benefits, and from a post she made on Instagram, Ebony was indeed happy about the offer.
Bullet revealed further than before her sudden demise, they had already sealed another ‘heavy’ deal of $90,000 which was set to roll on March 1.
However, due to her sad passing, that deal would not materialize.
Ebony met her sad end in a car crash last week Thursday when she was on her way to Accra from Sunyani, where she had visited her mother and family members.
She died together with her bodyguard, Lance Corporal Vondee Francis Atsu, and her childhood friend, Franklina Nkansah Kuri.
Her one week memorial will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018, in Accra.
