A Ghanaian pilot who flies for Africa World Airlines has unleashed hot gas on a group of armed robbers who boarded his plane in attempt to rob the aircraft while it was preparing to take-off on Tuesday.
In the most recent instance of armed robbers attempting to rob planes while before take-off, a pilot with Africa World Airlines has gotten the better of a group of armed robbers who tried to rob his Accra-bound CRJ jet aircraft.
According to a report by Ghanaguardian.com, the robbers reportedly breached the perimeter fence of Mortala Muhammed International Airport, in Lagos, and made straight for the plane as it was preparing to take off.
The armed robbers then reportedly managed to open the aircraft's cargo door, cut open the bag holders in the cargo hold and attempted to steal passenger bags.

However the pilot somehow managed to realize what was happening for what it was, and reportedly unleashed hot gas on the robbers, somehow scaring them into beating a quick retreat.
The aircraft which was preparing to take off was eventually forced to remain on the ground as police anti-bomb units were called in to ensure the aircraft was still safe.
Passengers on board the aircraft were asked to identify their luggage before the flight was finally allowed to leave the Murtala Muhammed Airport.
