A former Ashanti Regional vice chairman of the National Democratic Congress is predicting the resignation of the special prosecutor, Martin Amidu.
Alhaji Mohammed Sani believes that some influential officials within the NPP government will do everything possible to interfere with the work of Martin Amidu - a development which will leave Mr Amidu with no option than to just walk away from his job.
Speaking in an interview with Okay FM, the top NDC official revealed that the "arrogant" posture of Martin Amidu will cause him so much harm.
“I know Amidu will start displaying his arrogance and will start having issues with his team so I can tell you on authority that he may even be forced to resign within 6 months of office,” he revealed.
The former Attorney-General appeared before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday in a confident mode as he answered questions from the House.
The ‘Citizen Vigilante’ touched on a couple of issues, including his fall out with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), “coerced” apology letter to the late President Atta-Mills and the way he intends to discharge his duties as Special Prosecutor.
Indeed, many Ghanaians have commended Mr. Amidu for his bold way of tackling questions when he appeared before the Committee.
The nomination of Martin Amidu as a special prosecutor has sparked controversy especially among members of the opposition NDC in which Martin Amidu is a card bearing member of.
