- An eyewitness to the accident that claimed the life of Ebony, Bernard Owusu, has challenged the account of the accident as given by Ebony's driver
- According to him, it was a pothole, not a heap of sand that caused the accident
In a rather unexpected twist of events, a man who said he was an eyewitness to the accident that claimed the life of music artiste, Ebony, and two others, says Ebony’s driver told lies about the incident.
The man, Bernard Owusu, is alleged to have been a passenger in the VIP bus that collided with the Jeep in which Ebony and three others were travelling.
In a report by Ghissues.com, Owusu who stated that he is a journalist with Angel TV, said Ebony’s driver was over speeding, and for that reason failed to realize there was a pothole ahead of him.
As a result, the Jeep lost its front tyre and subsequently hit the side of the VIP bus.
He therefore insisted that the heap of sand played no role in the accident that claimed the lives of Ebony and two others on the night of Thursday, February 8, 2018.
According to him, the accident “wasn’t a head-on collision, it was a side collision; but for the pothole, the Jeep would have passed without any accident.”
The driver of the Jeep, who survived the incident, is reported to have claimed that a Sprinter bus veered into his lane after he overtook a car in front of him.
He added that in his attempt to make way for the oncoming bus, he ended up climbing a heap of sand on the road, resulting in the accident.
