You can check your BECE placement from the CSSPS portal after GES has announced BECE exam results and school placement outcomes. Here is how to verify your BECE placement on the CSSPS portal:

  • Visit the CSSPS website.
  • Using mobile money, purchase your e-voucher from the CSSPS website.
  • Click the 'Check Placement' button.
  • Enter your 10-digit BECE index number, followed by your examination year, in the following sequence: If your index number is 1234567890 and your exam year is 2022, you will enter 123456789022.
  • Enter the 12-digit code from your e-voucher.
  • Press 'Submit' to view your placement and 'Print' to print it.
  • Fill out the printed BECE placement form (WAEC/BECE placement form), attach your passport, and send the documents to your CSSPS-placed institution.

  • Visit the CSSPS BECE School Placement Checker Portal (CSSPS website).
  • Select 'Buy e-voucher.'
  • Choose a mobile wallet to pay for your e-voucher.
  • Enter your BECE index number and click 'Buy BECE Placement.'
  • Choose your payment method.
  • Approve/confirm the GH₵ 10.00 e-voucher payment.
  • The system will instantly generate an e-voucher code for you to use when checking your BECE School placement.

How to check for school placement on the phone?

The BECE SHS placement shows you which school you have been assigned to attend for your senior year. To verify your school placement by phone online, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Go to the CSSPS portal.
  • Choose the 'Buy voucher' option.
  • Purchase the placement checker card for GH₵ 10.00 via your MTN mobile money number.
  • After purchasing the BECE school placement checker voucher, return to the CSSPS result checker online portal and select the 'Check placement' option.
  • Enter your BECE index number, followed by your examination year, in the following sequence: If your index number is 1234567890 and your exam year is 2022, you will enter 123456789022.
  • After that, input the serial number and pin found on the online e-voucher you purchased.
  • Finally, press the 'Submit' button to see your SHS school placement.
  • If you want to print your BECE SHS school placement from your phone, click the 'Print' button.

Candidates who check their selected schools via SMS can still use the placement checker codes and visit the CSSPS portal to print their BECE placement forms.

The CSSPS system will redirect you for self-placement if it has not allocated a school. More school vacancies are available in the self-placement module for students who miss slots during the automatic placement process.

Notify your Head of School if you notice any errors in the school placement process that should be rectified.

How to buy a BECE placement checker with mobile money?

The BECE placement checker short code *447*160# works on all networks. Therefore, you do not have to switch to another network to do this. Instead, follow these steps:

  • Dial *447*160# on your phone and press the call button. This is the short code for checking BECE school placement.
  • Select 2 in the menu to choose E-Voucher.
  • Select 2 again to choose BECE.
  • Select 2 to choose Placement Checker.
  • Select 1 to continue.
  • Input your name and other required details, then follow the prompts to pay GH₵ 10.00.
  • You will receive a text or email confirmation with your BECE School Placement Checker Code.
  • After that, you can check your BECE placement on the CSSPS portal.

When is BECE done?

Students usually do this national exam in June after three years of their JHS Education. The exam usually lasts for a week unless emergency cancellations and postponements happen.
