The death of young and vibrant dancehall artist, Ebony Reigns, born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, has inspired several strong emotions over the last few days. These have ranged from shock and sadness, to downright disappointment at the hypocrisy of it all.
Looking at the latter, YEN.com.gh put together a list of popular Ghanaians who have openly called out Ghanaians over the way they've criticized Ebony when she was alive, but sing her praises now that she has passed on.
John Dumelo shared a scathing tweet the day after Ebony's death criticizing members of Ghana's entertainment industry for acting is though they cared even whey they didn't support her while she was alive. The popular actor urged entertainers to change their ways, himself included.

Known for being fiercely outspoken, Lydia Forson was one of the first celebrities to call out the change of attitude towards Ebony Reigns after she passed on in a series of tweets, one of which has since been deleted. In one simple sentence, Lydia Forson put into words what many have thought regarding comments from Ghanaians.
In a video shared on social media, Gifty Osei also called out hypocrisy over Ebony's death. As far as the popular gospel artist is concerned, life is too short.
Speaking during the one week observance of Ebony's death, Fireman Songo expressed surprise at the support the event received. Speaking to reporters, the sports journalist expressed that, upon all the criticism and hypocrisy, Ghanaians really did appreciate Ebony.
