Some persons on social media have criticised the organisers of the one-week memorial for the late Ebony Reigns, for neglecting Franklina Kuri and Francis Atsu Vondee, who died with the dancehall artiste.
The conversation on social media have questioned the “total neglect” of Franky and Francis during Ebony’s one-week observance on Sunday at the St Martin’s De Porres School at Dansoman, which attracted thousands of people from all walks of life.
The late Ebony Reigns died in an accident when travelling from Sunyani to Accra together with her best friend, Franklina Kuri, otherwise called Franky, and Francis, a soldier with the Ghana Air Force, believed to be Ebony’s bodyguard.
In an earlier publication, the Ghana Armed Forces said it went for Atsu’s body and would later release it to the family.
Meanwhile, Frankie, will be buried on March 3 before Ebony’s funeral on March 17.
Franky, 27, was born Franklina Maame Yaa Teboa Nkansah.
As of Tuesday, there were no indications of their families planning something together.
Ebony, born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng died with two others around 11:45 PM at Nyame Bekyere near Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region on Thursday, February 8.
According to a police report, on reaching a section of the road between Nyamebekyere and Nsuta, there was a heap of sand in the lane of Ebony’s Jeep, and her driver, in trying to avoid running into the sand, swerved onto the opposite lane and grazed the near side portion of a VIP bus.
The Jeep then plunged into the railings at the edge of the road, killing the music star as well as Franklina Nkansah, aged 27 years; and Lance Corporal Vondee Francis Atsu, aged 29 years.
