-The actress’ only son, Raymond Ekwu, reportedly died of sickle cell last year
-Eucharia is making a fresh allegation that her son was killed by his doctor
Veteran Nollywood actress, Eucharia Anunobi, has revealed that her son’s doctor killed him.
Last year, YEN.com.gh reported the sad demise of the son of veteran Nigeria actress, Eucharia Anunobi.
The son, Raymond Ekwu, who was the only child of the actress, reportedly died of sickle cell anemia.
But in a report sighted by YEN.com.gh in the Daily Post, one of Nigeria’s dailies, Eucharia Anunobi is accusing her son’s doctor of killing him.
According to Eucharia, her son who was then fifteen years was not supposed to die, but he was mistakenly killed by the doctor.
She however, did not disclose how the doctor killed the boy as she is alleging.
Eucharia dropped this bombshell on the occasion of her son’s sixteenth birthday which we understand was some few days ago.
She has celebrated the son’s birthday, and has explained her reasons for doing so even though he is no more living.
According to the actress, Raymond was a wonderful child, and she decided to honour him by celebrating his sixteenth birthday even in his absence.
She revealed further that she has kept her mourning clothes on since the demise of his sons because he was a good boy to him.
Eucharia added that as was their (she and the son) custom, she has donated food items and some of his son’s clothes to the motherless babies to mark the birthday.
She is quoted by Daily Post as saying: “I have not removed my mourning clothes, neither have I opened my hair since the death of my son. I have only been wearing white since his demise and the reason I have maintained this is because my son was a good boy to me, but he was mistakenly killed by the doctor.”
"My son was not supposed to die. He was a very wonderful child. I decided to honour him by marking his 16th birthday posthumously the way we normally do. During our birthdays, we usually visited the motherless babies and show them love by donating some clothes and food to them.”
"This year would not be any different from the previous ones we have celebrated. I am going to do it the way my son and I had always done it and I would give out some of his personal effects. Normally, when someone dies, you do not touch their things for about a year.”
“….. Initially, I decided to do the same thing but I later changed my mind and that is why I donated some of his things to a government-owned motherless babies’ home and also to the boys at the Special Correctional Centre for the Boys.”
