Lizzy Sports Academy team beats Real Madrid side to win Dubai International Cup

- Lizzy Sports Academy's U-13 side has won the 2018 Dubai International Cup

- They beat Real Madrid's U-13 side 4-0 at penalty shootouts to win the championship

Lizzy Sports Academy's U-13 side has submitted the U-13 side of the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, to a 4-2 defeat via penalty shootouts after a goalless match which at the 2018 Dubai International Cup finals.

Young U-13 squad made Ghana proud throughout the entire tournament with it's skillful play, and the young player's ability to remain composed even while under considerable pressure.

Though team members were unable to make the journey to Dubai all together, the young Lizzy Sports Academy appeared to lock down their first couple of wins in the tournament with relative ease.

Lizzy Sports Academy team beats Real Madrid side to win Dubai International Cup

Seeing as Lizzy Sports Academy's squad arrived to the tournament late, the young side had to play two of their opening matches on the same day. They played the Dubai side, Al Wahda, at 1:00p.m. and won 4-0, and then they defeated the Egyptian side, Wadi Degla, at 8:00 the same day and won by 6-1.

The side's first taste of glorious victory came with its win over the Barcelona side via a 2-0 win, putting them at the top of the tables and allowing them to make the round of 16.

Then came the Old Ladies of the Serie A, who fell to Lizzy Sports Academy's U-13 side at the penalty shootouts after a goalless draw. The same occurred after meeting the Angolan side, AFA, who proved to be a more difficult opponent than the team had met the entire tournament through.

The finally came up against Real Madrid's U-13 side, who held them to a nil nil draw right up until the final whistle. Things ended up working out for the young Ghanaian side who ended up beating Real Madrid's side 4-2 at the final.

David Trezeguet and Nicholas Anelka, former French football stars and members of France's 1998 FIFA world Cup Champions squad, handed the young Ghanaian side the trophy after they emerged as the tournament's champions.
