The group who were on full display at the party’s Unity Walk in Somanya over the weekend insisted that, the late Ebony would have been part of the exercise if she was to be alive.
“Ebony is an NDC member that’s why we’re wearing her T-Shirt, her family is known to be members of the NDC. What we’re saying is not rumor, we have facts to prove our claims. I’ve a picture she took with her dad in their room which showed a big umbrella and a big flag," the leader of the group said. .
Another member of the NDC group also added that, "there’s no way Ebony would have missed this march if she were to be alive, but we’re still mourning her.”
Some of the NDC members who were clearly not happy according to Livefmghana.com's report, took a swipe at the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for claiming Ebony as a member of the NPP.
Madam Ekuful, who was at the One Week celebration of Ebony, disclosed that she was saddened by the death of the late singer, since she lived under her jurisdiction.
In a video which has gone viral on various social media platforms, the NPP MP was captured lamenting that, the untimely demise of Ebony has left her terrified since she has lost one vote in the constituency.
Ebony met her untimely death in a gory accident on Kumasi-Sunyani road while returning to Accra from a private trip.
The accident which occurred on February 8, 2018, claimed the life of the singer together with her bodyguard, Francis Atsu Vondee and one of her closest friend, Franky Kuri.
The late Ebony Reigns will be buried on March 17, 2018, in Accra.
