Ghana's Director of State Protocol 'humiliated' at Akufo-Addo's meeting with US Governors?

President Nana Akufo-Addo made history over the weekend as he became the first African Head of State to address the United States' (US) National Governors Association's (NGA) winter meeting.

But just before his address in the US capital of Washington DC, something interesting happened which has caught social media attention.

The Director of State Protocol, Ambassador Hassan Ahmed, who accompanied the president to the podium to deliver his speech seemed to have been handed an unforgettable experience.

In what many have deemed as a goofing, the person who introduced President Akufo-Addo bypassed what looked like an attempt by Ambassador Ahmed to get a handshake and rather went to shake the hand of Nana Addo.

After President Akufo-Addo's hand had been shaken, Ambassador Ahmed stretched his hand again but, for the second time, there was no handshake.

A video of incident has since garnered attention on social media with a cross section of Ghanaians expressing their opinion.

While YEN.com.gh cannot claim to be experts at this, we believe the conclusion that Ambassador Ahmed was snubbed may be premature.

He is an experienced diplomat who should not commit such blunder. And a footage from a different angle would help make a better judgement.
