The ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen, is said to have been allegedly recorded saying that the Presidency "gifted" the New Patriotic Party GHC 50 billion last year.
According to a recent report published by Mynewsgh.com, an audio recording said to have recorded Nana Obiri Boahen's voice saying that the ruling party received funds for its 2017 extraordinary national delegates conference in Cape Coast.
This is the conference which took place last year, where new suggestions were made to amend the party's constitution.
In the recording, Nana Obiri Boahen reportedly laments how he was given a total of GHC 5,000 as a member of the resolution committee while the party was given GHC 50 billion.
“When we were going Cape Coast the other time, I was given GH¢3,000 as a member of the Resolution Committee and an additional GH¢2,000 for fuel. Meanwhile, the Flagstaff House gave the party an amount of GH¢50 billion,” he said.
The NPP Deputy General Secretary also revealed in the recording that he uses his own funds and vehicle to do party work.
He added that he has not received a call from John Boadu saying that there is a government contract waiting for him.
"As the Deputy General Secretary of the party, NPP has been in power for 11 months they have neither given me a car nor fuel same. I use my own car and buy my own fuel. I have no office of my own and I am not entitled to my salary," he said.
