Man sells 9-year-old grand daughter for GH¢100,000

- A grandfather has been arrested after trying to sell his daughter

- The 63-year-old man offered his granddaughter for GH¢100,000

- Police from the CID had to disguise themselves as buyers to arrest him

Police officials have arrested a 63-year old man for setting his 9-year-old daughter for sale.

Midaho Agbodzi, is reported to have fetched his granddaughter from her aunt in the Volta Region but all this while he was being followed quietly by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The old man, feeling no pain or fear, dragged the innocent girl to Accra where he had been promised of a good trade should he sell his daughter.

The price his daughter was going for was a whopping GH¢100,000. It remains unknown the reason he chose to charge this amount but from all indications, he could have had plans of taking care of his personal means.

Director-general of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah, has revealed that the CID has released secret agents to act out as persons interested in buying the young girl.

Speaking to the media about the matter, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah revealed that the suspect had actually contacted some people to help him to get a buyer.

After been lied to by the CID, Agbodzi later agreed to meet the buyer at the Osu Danquah Circle area to conclude negotiations. It was there that he got arrested.

Earlier on, the police reported of how the innocent girl, upon asking her granddad for money for school got denied as Agbodzi said he does not have 50 cedis for her.
