Ghanaian dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in showbiz as Shatta Wake has finally received the car he won during last year’s People’s Choice Awards.
The awards ceremony, which was organized by the GN Bank, saw thousands of people troop to the National Theatre to witness it.
Shatta Wale was among the big winners on the night after scooping the Men’s Artiste of the Year award.
He was due to receive a posh car for his feat; however, the car was delayed due to certain hitches encountered by the organisers.
That being said, the brand-new Dodge Charger vehicle has finally arrived and was gifted to the “Ayoo” hitmaker Wednesday night at the Coconut Groove Hotel in Accra.
His record label, Zylofon Media, took to Instagram to disclose the news by posting a short video of the whole presentation.
The video was accompanied by the words: “Shatta Wale finally receives his Dodge Charger from organizers of People’s Choice Awards.”
2017 was generally a big year for Shatta Wale, who many think could have won the Artiste of The Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) if nominated.
2017 also saw Shatta Wale involved in 'beefs' with his colleagues in the music industry, slapping his body guard on stage at the S-Concert, confronting journalists/bloggers over cocaine reports, using a firearm in public.
In the midst of all the controversy, he still came out on top to be voted as the People's Choice of the year.
