News reaching YEN.com.gh ahead of the nominees jam for the 2018 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards indicates that Shatta Wale might return to the big stage of music awards in the country.
Speaking in an interview with TV3’s Owusu Worae, Public Relations Officer of event organizers, Charter House, George Quaye, confirmed that Shatta Wale’s team had entered his songs for nomination for the upcoming awards night.
He went on to reveal that his outfit had accepted the entries that had been made on behalf of the musician but as to whether they would be entered in the final list of nominations is yet to be ascertained.
Further reports have it that the decision-making body of the prestigious awards have already concluded all their meetings and sittings for the nominations.
The nominees would soon be announced for the various categories who would go up against each other for recognition and honors on the night of the awards ceremony.
Even though Shatta Wale’s entry is a sign of his comeback, all is not clear yet.
It was revealed that Shatta Wale made entries in the 2017 edition for the year 2016. His entries were accepted but he did not make it to the final list of nominees.
His inclusion in this year’s Ghana Music Awards or otherwise now chiefly depends on the decision-making body of the event house.
It is a well-known fact that Shatta Wale and Charter House do not see eye to eye when it comes to the awards ceremony.
The 'Taking Over' hitmaker who has been excluded from the big night of music and recognition in Ghana has on several occasions rendered apologies to the event house for his comments in the past.
Shatta Wale, known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, is known to have stated on record that he was willing to dialogue with Charter House over their long-standing impasse.
The Zylofon Music signee has been touted as one of the candidates to win the coveted title of the 'Artiste of the Year' if everything goes as planned.
