Ghana's homegrown bad boy, Shatta Wale, appears to have taken a swipe at Ghanaians who have chosen to take up nationalities other than their Ghanaian ones.
Many people who have chosen to take up second nationalities - or relinquished their former nationality for another one - have had to deal with criticism over their choices, and now Shatta Wale has joined that group of critics.
In a post shared on his personal Facebook profile, Shatta Wale says if someone says they're proud to be a Ghanaian they would not identify themselves as a citizen of another country.
"If you really were proud of Ghana you won’t go abroad and call yourself a citizen of another country...what a shame," wrote Shatta Wale.
Though he doesn't mention names, Shatta Wale appears to be speaking to someone in particular, a notion one social media seems to agree with according to his response.
The controversial rapper goes on to give his fans some advice, urging fans to focus on solving their problems because God might be listening to their prayers.
