Popular Ghanaian actor and political activist, John Dumelo, has expressed that he does not believe that Ghanaians should not celebrate independence day this year, raising hell with Ghanaians on social media in the process.

With Ghana's independence being 61 years old today, many Ghanaians have expressed feelings of pride at being able to witness their homeland stand strong 61 years after attaining independence from its colonial powers.

This being said, others feel that even though Ghana's democracy has reached its 61st year, there's still nothing to celebrate about, and john Dumelo is one these people.

According to a recent tweet John Dumelo shared, the popular actor believes that this year Ghana should not celebrate its independence because children still lie on their stomachs to study, and teachers still have to teach IT without actual computers.

The actor's tweet seems to have raised hell with Ghanaians on social media, one of whom asked John Dumelo if these children had chairs a few years ago when the NDC - John Dumelo's party - was in political power.
