Ghana's 61st Independence Parade at the iconic Black Stars Square saw thousands of Ghanaians converge to witness the lovely match past and also hear the speeches of Nana Akufo-Addo and Nigeria's Mahammadu Buhari.
The parade, which was under the theme, "Ghana Beyond Aid", saw the president reaffirm his commitment to ensuring that Ghana does not go and borrow money from other countries in the West.
Nana Addo also stressed the need for Ghanaians to renew their love for the country as he begged for all to pay their taxes.
The event saw various political leaders, including the former presidents, Rawlings and Kufuor, show up to support the president's resolve to achieve this goal.
Hundreds of school children across the junior and senior high schools partook of the parade amidst scattered cases of some of them collapsing.

Various issues of national concern were raised by the president including the need to boost security in the country and end the menace of armed robberies.
