On March 6, 2018, Ghana celebrated its 61 years of independence from colonial rule, and people from all walks of life marked the historic event in various ways.
As expected, some celebrities took to social media to express their patriotism to the world, through thought-provoking messages, as well as photos.

Popular Ghanaian actor, Vivian Jill, wore a lovely headscarf with the colours of Ghana's flag depicted in it. This was matched with her lovely jewelry and her glowing skin.
Popular Ghanaian actors, Kalybos and Kwaku Manu, decided to "enlist" in the police force for the purpose of giving their fans a salute on Independence Day.
A photo of them released by Kalybos, was also intended to mark Kwaku Manu's birthday, which also fell on March 6, 2018.
Media personality, Afia Schwar, chose to share a video of her daughter, Pena Geiling, singing the National Anthem.
Pena did justice to the song, to the admiration of Afia Schwar's fans on social media.

Actress and model, Moesha Bodoung, shared a sultry photo of herself standing at the sea shore with the Ghana flag wrapped around her body.
Shatta Wale shared a drawing of himself with Ghana's first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, who had lifted his hand as they stood behind a podium. Fans, captured in the drawing continued to scream, "Shatta! Shatta!"
