- Kennedy Agyapong believes Ghana cannot be developed with just Church service and prayers
- The MP says it is time for Ghanaians to stop banking their hopes on 'false prophets'
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has lambasted self-styled Ghanaian prophets for dragging back Ghana’s development agenda with their ‘false’ doctrines.
According to the MP, some Ghanaian pastors have succeeded in brainwashing the country’s citizens into believing that, the only antidote to their problems is prayer and attending church services.
To him, God equally gave everyone brain and wisdom to operate and work hard in order to cater for ones family.
In a report put up by Mynewsgh.com, the outspoken NPP man was quoted, “how can we develop when we spend most of the time in churches praying? God gave you the brain to think, protect yourself and work to feed yourself but every day you are in the church praying in tongues, how can we develop with such a mentality?”.
The report further added that, the Ghanaian lawmaker who was clearly frustrated in his comment added that, many Ghanaian Christians have ignored their God-given skills and talents and are now banking their hopes on self-acclaimed prophets who are exploiting them.
This is not the first time the Ghanaian MP is waging war against some Ghanaian religious leaders.
Kennedy Agyapong speaking somewhere last year insisted that he does not believe in prophecies because about 90% of Ghanaian prophets are liars and are only capitalizing on the gullibility of their victims to make a living.
