6 reasons why Sarkodie should have been part of Zylofon Media a year ago

Ghanaian arts and entertainment company, Zylofon Media, has been in the news in recent times for a number of reasons.

The latest, being the question of whether dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy may part ways with the firm, was put to rest, when the CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah, released a statement in that respect.

Zylofon, has since its inception, signed on a number of artistes, who are responsible for promoting the brand of the company.

Hiphop artiste, Sarkodie, is however not on that list. YEN.com.gh brings to you six reasons why Sarkodie should have been signed on long ago:

1. Reputation

Sarkodie, born, Michael Owusu Addo, has over the years, established himself as one of the forces to reckon with in Ghana’s music industry.

2. Awards and recognition

He is considered as one of Ghana’s top performers, as he has received several awards in the course of his career.

3. His first song

His first single, Baby, which featured Mugeez of the duo, R2Bees, was an instant hit in Ghana’s music industry.

4. International exposure

Sarkodie has, since then, shared stages with international acts such as T-Pain, Trey Songz and Ludacris.

5. Setting records

In the year 2012, he launched the Rapperholic album, which was listed as the only African album to be featured on the BET Hip Hop Awards cypher.

6. Collaborations

In June 2014, he collaborated with Nigerian star, Davido as well as others on a song for DSTV’s Africa Rising campaign.
