Entertainment giants, Zylofon Media, has been rocked by a number of developments over the past few days regarding some of their employees.
Some the actions and inaction of these people have sent a gloomy picture to the public about the affairs of the outfit which looks very rosy from a distance.
With the signing of multiple award-winning musicians, actors and actresses, it was without any shred of doubt that the outfit is headed for greatness.
However, like any other human institution, it is normal to have internal wrangling and stiff competition by colleagues to come out top.
This fact notwithstanding, the recent happenings at arguably the biggest entertainment hub in Ghana currently, has left very little to be desired and has led to massive backlash from the public.
The once loved brand which was in the news for all the right reasons, after the row between some of its employees, has started to attract a negative tag to it regarding its operations.
With the constant backlash on social media, it would take more than just a few PR gimmicks to restore the trust that has somewhat been depleted in the eye of the public.
Today, YEN.com.gh brings you 4 reasons people are predicting Zylofon Media to collapse soon.
1. Ongoing rift between artistes and managers
Not too long ago, social media went into raptures when it was reported that Stonebwoy had been allegedly attacked by Bulldog and some others who went to demand the return of a company car.
The fracas led to a social media storm with many people up in arms and attacking the outfit and the action by some of its employees.
The misunderstanding has pitched some of the outfit’s top artistes against each other which could lead to a possible implosion. Notable among them are Kumi Guitar and Shatta Wale on one side and Stonebwoy on the other.
If there happens to be a fallout, other artistes would not find the entertainment giants attractive to join them.
Again, all the artistes would leave with their fan base should there be an eventual walkout.
2. Rumors of walkout by top acts
It has been alleged that award-winning act, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known widely as Stonebwoy, has been allegedly given time to decide his future at Zylofon Media.
Reports also have it that, the ‘People Dey’ singer, reportedly ordered the removal of Zylofon paraphernalia from a concert she was about to perform at – strengthening rumors of his exit from the outfit.
Others have speculated that highlife diva, Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong, popularly known as Becca, is also on her way out of the outfit.
Should any of these happen, the credibility of the entertainment giants is going to be seriously dented and could lead to their collapse.
3. Bad public image in recent times
After the recent happenings at Zylofon involving Stonebwoy, Kumi Guitar and Shatta Wale, coupled with some social media posts made by the CEO of Zylofon Media, many people have predicted doom for the outfit.
After the demise of dancehall act, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, popularly known as Ebony reigns, CEO of Zylofon, Nana Appiah Mensah, made a social media post that indicated that he was looking to ‘bail out’ the ‘Poison’ singer from her managers.
The post did not go down well with many Ghanaians who called out the CEO for being ‘insensitive to the times’ since many people were still grieving over the death of the dancehall act.
After last weekend’s altercation involving Bulldog and Stonebwoy which invariably dragged in Shatta Wale and Kumi Guitar, social media has been on the ‘neck’ of Zylofon.
Some internet users have used unprintable words to describe some of the artistes and management for their actions and inaction. This will in no small way ‘hurt’ the Zylofon Media brand and can cause its hard-earned reputation to plummet.
4. Signing on rivalling acts
When it was announced that Zylofon Media was going to sign on Shatta Wale in addition to Stonebwoy, many entertainment pundits predicted doom for the outfit since they felt it was going to bring about unhealthy rivalry between the acts.
It was reported that Stonebwoy was angry about Shatta Wale’s signing and was not even present at the unveiling since he was out of the country.
Not too long ago, Shatta Wale made a post which hinted of a beef between himself and Stonebwoy – making the prediction of many industry players come to pass.
The rivalry will invariably trickle down the fan base of both acts who would be divided in their support for Zylofon Media as both acts would represent the outfit and would want to outdo each other.
