The controversy surrounding masturbation has over the years attracted major debates over whether or not it poses health threats to those involved or addicted to it.
In fact, modern medical research warns that excessive masturbation can also be termed as self-harm especially considering the permanent health implications it has on the patient.

In fact, Dr. Sayeed Ahmad in his book, Homeopathic Management of Male Sexual Disorders, has warned that the addiction, if not properly checked had the potential of causing eternal damage to men.
YEN.com.gh explores seven health risks Dr. Sayeed Ahmad has attributed to excessive masturbation.
1. Severe headaches
Excessive masturbation and the stress placed on the genitals is feared to pose a great threat to the spine and brain causing severe migraines and backaches which doctors claim could transmute into a potential stroke.
2. Poor nervous system
It has been argued that most, if not all men who frequently masturbate have the highest chance of suffering a nervous breakdown. In fact, most male patients suffering multiple sclerosis (a nervous system disease that affects the brain and spinal cord) have issues with masturbation addiction.
3. Heart palpitations
Dr. Sayeed has argued that most young males and husbands suffering heart illnesses have bad histories of masturbation addiction.
According to the Homeopathic surgeon, the heart remains the most affected organ of the body during masturbation as addicts are bent on pressuring blood vessels to pump much blood to the penis just so the sexual motif of the act is achieved.
Constant masturbation, he argues, risks causing severe heartbeats (palpitations) which causes weakness and subsequent blackout should a heart attack occur.
4. Dizziness and loss of memory
Tracking the reason(s) why most men who masturbate have issues with memory loss, it has been settled that the several releases of antigens from the body and also the release of testosterone leaves the brain severely tired, worked out and subsequently weak.
As one places much stress on his genitals during masturbation, Dr. Sayeed argues his genitals are under stressed to produce an outburst of semen, more than usual especially due to the rigorous artificial sexual pleasure gained in the process.
A continuous addiction to masturbation, over the years, results in a weakened male genitalia and low sperm count.
6. Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Urinary tract infection is a bacterial infection of the urethra, ureters, kidneys, or bladder. An infection of the bladder, which is called cystitis, is the most common type of urinary tract infection.
Urethritis, or infection of the urethra, is also very common and may occur either on its own or in combination with cystitis.
If a person has a urinary tract infection, they may experience a burning pain upon urination, and your urine may be bad smelling, dark, and/or even bloody. In males, the symptoms of local irritation caused by scratching, masturbating, or an injury to the area can often mimic those of a urinary tract infection.
