Record labels that ruled Ghana's music world before Zylofon
There is no doubt that Zylofon Media currently tops the chart when it comes to the most influential record labels in the country.
Zylofon has injected huge sums into the industry, with reports suggesting that CEO Nana Appiah Mensah has spent almost $30 million dollars on signees.

However, before Zylofon there were a couple of other music record labels that used to run the show in Ghana.
Most of these record labels are currently extinct, whiles others are also struggling to stand on their feet due to many reasons.
Below are some record labels that ruled Ghana’s music industry before the arrival of Zylofon Media:
1. Lynx Entertainment
Lynx Entertainment used to be one of the biggest record labels in Ghana. The record label, headed by Richie Mensah, used to house some of the most talented musicians in the country.
The likes of Eazzy Baby, Asem, Zigi, OJ Black and a couple of others all rose through Lynx before going on to become stars of their own world.
In fact, Lynx Entertainment is still a very power record label in the country, with fast-rising artistes like Kuami Eugene and Kidi signed onto the label.
2. Family Tree Entertainment
Once upon a time, there was also the Family Tree Entertainment which was perhaps the biggest record label in Ghana in the early and mid-2000s.
The record label was being headlined by current MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kufour, better known in showbiz as Obour.
Family Tree also had a couple of other exciting young musicians, but the record label has now gone extinct.

The record label has heavyweight artistes like Tic Tac and Lord Kenya, who were both in their own class during the mid-2000s.
4. MaddHaus Entertainment
MaddHaus used to handle Kwaw Kese, Efya and some other underground artistes.
5. Bullhaus Entertainment
This record label was managing arguably the biggest musician in Ghana between 2013 to 2016. Bullhaus managed Shatta Wale during this period. The label also handled sensational group, 5Five.
