- Samir Bastie and Bukom Banku fought for the first time in October 2017
- Bukom Banku suffered his first defeat as a professional boxer in that fight
- Banku asked for a rematch and this has been granted him
Bastir Samir, the only boxer known to have beaten loud-mouthed boxer, Bukom Banku, has agreed on a rematch between the two of them.
The rematch has been fixed for June 2018, but the venue is yet to be communicated.
The two boxers have reportedly signed a contract on Thursday to this effect.
According to a report by Pulse.com, Banku disclosed that he was excited about the fact that Bastie has agreed to the rematch.
Banku indicated that this is a fine opportunity for him to fight Bastie and defeat him this time round.
The two fought in their first bout in October 2017, in which Banku was defeated in a round 7 knockout.
He had gone unbeaten in his 28 win-fights until he met Samir Bastie in his 29th match, who broke that record.
But Banku has said he is bent on winning the rematch after which he believes Samir would also ask for another rematch.
“I thank Bastie for giving me a rematch. I admit I lost the first bout, but I want to tell Samir that my lost was of my own doing.”
“This time he won’t have his way. When I beat him there will be a third fight to settle matters,” Banku said confidently.
However, Bastir Samir said he has beaten Banku once and he will beat him again.
“I won the first fight and I will beat him again in the rematch, I will not talk plenty. My fans should be rest assured that Kamoko will go down again,” Samir Bastie said.
