- Former President Rawlings has criticized former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hannah Tetteh, for disrespecting his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings
- Mr Rawlings claimed Ms Tetteh exhibited such disrespect to Nana Konadu on many occasions.
Former President Jerry John Rawlings has slammed former Minister of Foreign Affairs Hannah Tetteh for allegedly disrespecting his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings on several occasions.
According to former President Rawlings, Ms Tetteh, on about three occasions he could recollect, had acted with contempt towards the former first lady.
The first, Mr Rawlings recounted, was at an NDC congress in Tamale where the former minister insulted Nana Konadu.
Though failed to recount the second incident, Mr Rawlings stated that Hannah Tetteh repeated a similar behaviour during a durbar to commemorate Ghana's independence anniversary.
While shaking Nana Konadu's hand as part of dignitaries, Ms Tetteh gave the former first lady an unusually tight grip probably with an intention to hurt her.
For this, Mr Rawlings said, he would not have hesitated to openly campaign Ms Tetteh who was then contesting for re-election as MP for the Awutu-Senya West constituency in the 2016 elections if he had the energy to do so.
"I would have focused on Central Region against our own candidate called Hanna Tetteh if I had the energy to involve myself in campaign in 2016," he said.
The NDC founder who was speaking at a Town Hall meeting of cadres and NDC activists described Ms Tetteh's alleged behaviour as unacceptable.
