Policemen in the Volta region have confiscated a Togolese Mercedes Benz 1120 cargo truck with registration number, TG 336 AO.
The vehicle was allegedly filled with 89 maxi sacks of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, one of the suspects attempted to bribe the police with GHc10,000 but he was arrested, along with the driver and mate, who were occupants of the vehicle carrying the contraband goods.

Information available to YEN.com.gh indicates that some police officials were on board a police vehicle, and were sending a convicted prisoner to the Ho central prisons.
In the course of the journey on the Ave-Hevi – Avaiavi motor road at a distance of about a kilometer to Ave Hevi Township, the Mercedes Benz cargo truck emerged from the bush to join the main Ave Hevi motor road.
Upon seeing the truck, Chief Inspector Kwartei, the leader of the team, asked the service driver to stop, and upon inspection, it was discovered that it was loaded with a quantity of maxi sized fertilizer sacks suspected to be cannabis.
The police immediately arrested the driver, Dotsey Agbeviade and his mate, Innusah Ahliha, and sent them together with the truck to the Dzodze police station.
In the course of the journey, another suspect, Vincent Dorwode, caught up with the truck and attempted to bribe the officials with an amount of GHc10,000.
All the suspects have since been detained and will soon be arraigned before court.
