- John Mahama says he was never corrupt while being president
- Mahama says all alleged properties claimed to be owned by him can be seized
Former president of the republic, John Dramani Mahama, has issued out a very daring message to Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo over claims that he owns a private hotel in Dubai.
The ex-president made it to the headlines in 2017 over allegations of owning a 350 room hotel in the United Arab Emirates. Allegations also claim that Mahama had purchased the said vehicle during his tenure as president of Ghana.
These reports claim that the hotel, costing 40 million dollars, is called the JA Jebel Ali Hotel.
Aside from this allegation, there are also wild ones including the claim that the former president owns 3 commercial ships in Japan and also a 6 bedroom house at Tokyo at the cost of 1 million dollars.
Speaking to staunch party members of the opposition NDC in the UK, Mahama bluffed that Nana Addo could take over the hotel if indeed it existed.
“ If I have done wrong prosecute me, they talk about hotels in Dubai, seize them, you’re in office. They talk about ships in Tokyo, go and take over them, I mean they talk about all kinds of lies and they kept on repeating them and people thought such things exist,” Mahama dared Nana Addo.
These statements by Mahama comes in the wake of Martin Amidu being the Special Prosecutor of Ghana. The coming on board of Martin Amidu forms part of government's move to kill the trend of corruption in the country.
