YEN.com.gh has sighted a video of the late dancehall diva Ebony Reigns, in which she was rapping one of Stonebwoy’s songs.
Ebony was captured rapping ‘Bawasaaba’, one of the songs on Stonebwoy’s ‘Epistles of Mama’ (EOM) album.
The way she went about rapping in this video shows Ebony was a versatile young musician.
She proved with this video that aside from dancehall music, she could also do rap.
Ebony Reigns, born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng was Ghana’s youngest and most controversial musician.
She started music in 2015 with her first single ‘Dancefloor’.
She came into the limelight with her second song ‘Kupe’, but she became very popular after the release of her song ‘Sponsor’.
With just two years in the industry, Ebony launched her album, and had shot videos for all her songs with the exception of ‘Date Ur Fada’.
Her songs ‘Maame Hw3’, ‘Aseda’, ‘Date Ur Fada’, ‘Sponsor’, and the others are still enjoying massive airplay.
Unfortunately, Ebony did not live long enough for Ghanaians to enjoy her versatility.
She died painfully at a young age of 20, on February 8, 2018, just a week to her 21st birthday.
Her final funeral rites will be held this Saturday, March 24, 2018.
Meanwhile, Ebony’s management led by Bullet, has disclosed in an earlier interview that Ebony has many songs already recorded, and in due time, he would release all of them.
