Police storm Anyidoho’s residence after arrest

- Some heavily-armed police officers storm the residence of NDC Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho minutes after he was arrested Tuesday

- Mr. Anyidoho in an interview on Accra-based Happy FM, indicated that President Akufo-Addo will be overthrown just like his father and the late Dr. K. A Busia due to the ratification of the controversial defence cooperation agreement between the US and the government of Ghana

The Ghana Police Service have stormed the residence of of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho for a search.

The police visited the house of the fireband NDC executive shortly after his arrest on Tuesday afternoon.

The police officers moved into his house at Oyarifa near Adenta to search whether he has some hidden weapons in his home. They were accompanied by Lawyer Kojoga Adawadu.

Mr Anyidoho has been accused, criticised and condemned by the public for the “treasonable” comments he made on Accra-based Happy FM.

He is reported to have declared there will be a coup in Ghana because of the ratified Ghana-US Defense Cooperation that has received public backlash.

Meanwhile, scores of NDC supporters have thronged the CID headquarters in solidarity with their Deputy Secretary.

They have taken over the road and are chanting and singing in condemnation of the arrest.

General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has charged the crowd to keep up the support.

"We will stay here until they release him," he said.
