Tamale was thrown into a state of confusion when a group of soldiers allegedly pounced on a policeman and subjected him to severe beatings.
Information available from MyNewsGH shows that it stems from a raging acrimony between the two security agencies in the town, though the reason for the recent clash remains unclear.
YEN.com.gh understands that that one Constable Kwaku Duaah of the Tamale Regional Police Headquarters was subjected to severe beatings on Monday, March 26, 2018.
The victim, according to reports could hardly walk, and was therefore accompanied by one Latif Solo to narrate his ordeal at the Police Headquarters.
The incident, the reason for which is unclear, left him with a swollen neck and bruises on parts of his body.
According to Constable Duaah, he was on motorbike from the Regional Headquarters to take money from a bank, when four men in civilian clothing accosted him and began to attack him.
His assailants, who were allegedly armed with a military G-3 rifle and a jungle stick, subjected him to severe beatings till he sustained injuries and fell off his motorbike.
According to the police, the matter is currently under investigations.
