- Rev. Owusu Bempah has cautioned the Inspector General of Police over comments made by Koku Anyidoho
- The pastor called on the security chief to delve deep into the comments to prevent any unwanted situation
General Overseer of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, has called on the Inspector General of Police to launch a full-scale investigation into the comments made by Koku Anyidoho.
The Man of God called on the Police chief to take the comments made by the member of the opposition party very seriously since it could amount to bringing turmoil into the country.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Okay FM, the prophet revealed that it was unfortunate for a politician to make such comments about the president of the land.
He added that the comments could cause fear and panic in the country therefore it merited a full-blown investigation to ensure that the presidency was safe from any form of attack.
Owusu Bempah indicated that he was not calling for a prison sentence or any form of stiff punishment for the high-ranking member of the National Democratic Congress, but was rather concerned that the statement would not lead to anything which was not in the interest of peace.
Not too long ago, it was purported that Rev. Owusu Bempah said that the presidency was in danger and called for prayers from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He went on to allege that some people wanted to ‘assassinate’ the president. He is believed to have revealed that some people close to the president wanted to ‘harm’ him.
Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Koku Anyidoho was picked up Tuesday by some members of the Criminal Investigations Department over some alleged comments he made which were deemed to be treasonable during a radio interview.
According to the NDC bigwig, President Akufo-Addo, would be overthrown in a civil revolt due to some recent happenings in the country especially the much talked-about Ghana-US Military Cooperation agreement.
The NDC politician was 'arrested' at the Accra International Press Center by plain-clothed officers after he made the said comments.
The NDC general secretary, Asiedu Nketia, the NDC Chairman, Kofi Portuphy and many others, have showed solidarity and have stood behind their party member in these trying times.
